Student, armed with a toy gun and claiming to belong to a group of hackers ... A young man of 19 years has shaken the Dutch public television last night bursting shortly before 20h in the premises of NOS, Hilversum, south east of Amsterdam.
Despite the enhanced security measures in place in the media in Europe since the attacks of Charlie Hebdo, he was able to hijack a security guard. He called 10 minutes of airtime to 20h log.
He was finally brought on another plate and arrest was filmed.
His fake gun with a silencer was indistinguishable from a real police said. The building was quickly evacuated.
We learned this morning that name was Tarik, he studied chemistry at the University of Delft and that he had no criminal record. Very quiet, he said he had revelations to make a global importance and he said that eight bombs containing radioactive material would explode in the country if he did not go on the air. Still it is not known what his motives really were.
He was questioned and could be charged with a weapon and forcible confinement port under the threat of a weapon.
The investigation is ongoing, but the Dutch Justice Minister Ivo Opstelten and Security believes that he acted alone.
In the Netherlands, in May 2012, in a parking lot in the press center of Hilversum, the populist Pim Fortuyn was murdered by an animal rights activist.
